While not working as a GeoInt Analyst in the Washington DC metro area, D. Hunter Phillips enjoys a life-long love of sci-fi, fantasy, role-playing games, and a great many other nerdy things that he explores through writing and games.

Through his writing, D. Hunter hopes to inspire and speculate on the future and the past. He seeks deeper meanings within pulp genres of fantasy and sci-fi.

D. Hunter enjoys the tales of John Ringo and Charles Stross. D. Hunter’s readings lead him in a never ending cycle of sci-fi, history, physics, and psychology.

D. Hunter enjoys going to DC area Goth clubs and seeing some of his favorite bands, such as VNV Nation. He also enjoys swing dancing and showing people a good time. He lives in Alexandria with a sweet cat and an even sweeter girl.

I like the feature image and background on your site. It give the traditional wordpress format a unique look. I also love science fiction and fantasy, though I haven’t done a lot of gaming, mostly reading and writing. Settler’s of Catan is one of my favorite board games. What are your favorites?

  2. Thanks! The image and background are actually from my first novella. Though the background is in black and white on the back cover. This was the color version I was originally provided with.

Settlers is a really great intro game, but as the years have gone on and I have played numerous board games, it has moved far down on my list. The randomness factor gives a widely different play experience some times. I love Ticket To Ride for casual games, Rune Age, a number of card games, Battlestar Galactica the board game, and many more.
